I just purchased some Vitamin D made by your company — 100 tablets. I was shocked to see the waste in packaging. With so-called global warming and governments wanting to charge extra for garbage we put out at the curb, how can you justify selling a few tablets in bottle that can hold more than four times what it holds? You are contributing more than four times the necessary waste. Line four bottles up, multiply that by the amount you sell a year and you'll see the amount you are contributing to global warming — and that is only for vitamin D! Your company should be ashamed and possibly fined.
Thank you for contacting us with regards to your environmental concern. Please be assured that at this time, Jamieson is working to address the issue of bottle size. Due to a number of factors, one of which is customer demand, the bottle size for the product in question, as well as a number of other Jamieson products, was increased. This is in response to a number of complaints received regarding the print size on our label, which was felt by many of our consumers to be illegible.
In order to accommodate all of the required text regulated by Health Canada in a larger font, the label size had to be increased and consequently the bottle size as well.
In a continuing effort to be more environmentally conscious and responsible, we have changed the material used for our bottles to an entirely recyclable form of plastic.
