Vitamin D Linked to Overall Improved Health of Youth with Type 1 Diabetes

A study in The Journal of Pediatrics yesterday reported that fewer than 25% of youth with Type 1 diabetes have adequate blood levels of Vitamin D. Not only does this deficiency undermine overall health, but it may place a child at risk for future fractures, since diabetes is associated with skeletal fragility.
